I would like to suggest that you check out these websites. The Kurzweil video will show you an overview of the program
that your child is using at Rochester School. It is a tool used to give voice to
text and you will learn more about all the many other features it has,
including the creation of mp3 files, on the video.
Bookshare.org is a very large digital library for those with needs in the
area of reading. We are currently using
it at school. For use at home, I can help you set up an independent membership
to download free digital books and also
a free reading tool (an alternative to Kurzweil
3000), called Read Out Loud, that will also give a voice to the text. The
webinar, video and guide are here for you; just click on the links. Two are
quite lengthy; so get a cup of coffee and enjoy watching.
